BOOKING AN APPOINTMENT
Before booking we advise all of our clients to make sure they have all the relavent elements in hand.. by this we mean
reference material such as images which can be sourced either through books, internet or any other means. This helps us no end on gaining a better understranding of what it is your after.
Once you're happy with the reference ideas you've collected... then we are more than happy to book you an appointment. Also please note that most people require custom artwork from Jim Ryan, but there are a good number of people that have specific designs.. in other words they want it done just like their picture with no changes.. this is fine with us, however the important thing here is to make sure they are high resolution images.. this is particularly important with portrait photographs. If this is the case then we recommend profesional portrait photos, correctly exposed with creative lighting and shadows... the better the image.. the better the piece.
If your not sure whether or not the images you have are good enough then please feel free to email any images you have and I will gladly advise you if its suitable for the job in hand.
Please also note that many people print out their own designs on inkjet printers and bring them into us.. We do not advise this and would much prefer we had the actual file on something like a USB key hardrive or similar... this ensures we can get the best possible print out quality using our own printing equipment.
Please do not give us low resolution low quality mobile phone images for highly detailed work such as portraits. Recommended megapixel count must be at least 5 million to get a good result.
All appointments must be backed up with a deposit.. we ask for a £10 deposit for every hour you book which will get knocked off the cost on your last session should you need more than one.
Many of our customers have travelled half way around the world to get inked by Jim.. if this is the case for you then email and phone is the best way to communicate with us, if you are local to our studio then please feel free to come to the studio and our receptionist will advise you.
Note: Many people think it neccesary to speak to me directly regarding their designs etc.. unfortunately due to the fact that im generally busy working on clients, those days have gone. Our receptionist Sarah will be able to tell you anything you need to know.. if there's anything Sarah doesn't know she will relay it to me.
Once you have your design, be it wall designs or a one off,
we can establish approximately how long it will take and for how
long your appointment will last. Please note APPROXIMATE.. it could be more or less the times we give you. We charge an hourly rate so however many hours it takes will determine the cost.
We do not charge for breaks or refreshments during session time.
Unfortunately we do have a waiting list which fluctuates.. our waiting list speaks volumes regarding the quality of the work that walks out of our studio so please do not complain about it, every person that comes to our studio is treated equally. Patience is a virtue which will lead you to a good result.
We have a saying here at Damcool that goes like this.. If you dont care to wait.. we dont care to do it!
Those of you who have appointments booked can be added to the cancellation list. There is no guarentee that we can get you a cancellation.. but in most cases (if your mobile number has not changed) they do come up but generally at short notice.
